About Us. Sirius About Dogs, a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation formed in 1988 by Elaine Young and friends, has introduced its Annual Canine Festival. Our organization functions to unify varied canine organizations so we speak with a common voice in pursuit of a common goal both politically and philanthropically. Our continuing committment is to aid canines in distress, both medically and environmentally. Additionally, each year, we identify a target group to receive our funds. Our donation theme for 2005 Canine Festival is assisting Seattle's Retired Police Dogs. Canine Festival will be an exciting weekend of continuous competition, education, demonstrations, performance, training, seminars and shopping. Sirius Fun match, International Dog Shows, Working Group Fun Match, Specialty Breed Matches, Agility coupled with obedience competitions. Demonstrations, clinics, which include AKC/CAR micro chipping, the latest innovation in recovering, lost canines and police dog. Additional activities include canine massage therapy, a behaviorist, grooming, art, photography and breed introductions where owners introduce the community to the temperament, history and function of their breed. Canine behaviorists and veterinarians tackle personality and health issues. A festival of a magnificent variety of breeds and an exposition of the many ways canines enrich all of our lives. We want to preserve the art form that is the dog. In presenting the Sirius festival showcase we confirm how much we care today and how we will build acceptance for tomorrow. Mission statement: Formed to assist in the preservation of canine awareness. To encourage good canine health, good canine citizens, a supportive political structure and to support clubs and organizations who defend humanitarian ideals related to the canine world. |
